A short history
The story behind Queen's.
The modern Open Era tournament at The Queen's Club dates to 1969 and has become one of the most prestigious grass-court events outside Wimbledon. Its champions span generations, including Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Carlos Alcaraz and Tommy Paul. Murray owns the Open Era singles record with five titles. In 2026 Francisco Cerundolo became the first Argentine singles champion at Queen's and won his first ATP 500 crown.
